Trigion Security steps taken as a result of Coronavirus

27 March 2020

Trigion Security are closely following all of the developments associated with the Coronavirus Covid -19 outbreak.

On a daily basis, we are pro- actively taking the advice given by the Public Health England and formal government guidelines, in order to stay consistently on track with the constant developments it is vital for consistent messaging and communications to our teams out in the front line that we do not develop our own policies, but adhere to official advice in supporting the reduction in the spread of the virus.

Further to the press conference set out by the Prime Minister on 23 March which announced further stringent steps. These measures will stay in force for a minimum period of three weeks at which point the Nation will be updated on next steps accordingly.

The public will only be allowed to leave their home for the following very limited purposes:

  • Shopping for basic necessities, as infrequently as possible
  • One form of exercise a day - for example a run, walk, or cycle - alone or with members of your household;
  • Any medical need, to provide care or to help a vulnerable person; and
  • Travelling to and from work, but only where this is absolutely necessary and cannot be done from home.

Trigion are actively following the advice and guidelines to the letter and calls on all its colleagues to do the same. At Trigion we will focus on creating a safe environment for all. We are requesting that additional hygiene measures and a safe distance at work is implemented with our workforce particularly those that are on the frontline doing essential tasks for our valued clients. Through social media, internal communication channels, and cascading through management teams we will actively communicate about the virus and the necessary steps that have to be taken. If in any doubt whatsoever we urge our colleagues to take further direction from their Direct Line Manager.

Critical Processes

Security and cleaning are absolutely crucial to all of our clients with whom we serve. The majority of our colleagues simply cannot work from home, but play an important role in making sure critical sectors can keep operating during these challenging times. Therefore, whilst doing so must at all times stay safe and adhere aligned to the guidelines that are set out, in order to preserve their own safety and wellbeing.

One important aspect for our service delivery is to ensure a safe distance of 2 metres is maintained as a minimum at all times. We will actively communicate this and repeatedly make our staff aware through various forms of updated communications across the broad. It is vital to our recovery that we find the right balance between supporting the UK’s economy and looking after the health and wellbeing of our clients and our colleagues.

Task Force

Within Trigion we have appointed a Task Force Steering Group which deals with all Corona related matters. The members of this team are all experts in their field from Quality, HR, Operations and Marketing Support.

If and when a valued client is confronted by a case of suspected Corona Virus at one of our client locations or if one of our colleagues needs to self-isolate, the guidelines of the Public Health England will be followed and the process of each individual case monitored by our Task Force Steering Group who will duly update the Management Team on their daily call.

In addition, Trigion has a Business Continuity Plan in place that Trigion follows. The BCP is controlled by our Dedicated Health and Safety Director and is constantly updated as and when necessary with further developments as we are furnished with updated guidelines and developments as and when they are published.

Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme

On the subject of the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme, we have the official publication of the broader details of the scheme, and we welcome the Government’s support in these difficult times. As and when the finer details of the scheme and exactly how it will operate in practice are published, then and only then we will be able to confirm at that point how it will be put into practise.  Therefore, at this time until the information is made available we are unable to make any final statements and decisions on this area.

The definition of a furloughed employee will be an employee who is on a temporary layoff, most likely for a specified amount of time, who has a secured position to return to and so will only, most likely, apply to sites subject to temporary closure.    As things stand, the scheme is set to run for a set period of three months but, as with everything, that may well be fluid and subject to later formal advice.

We have set up a sub team within the Task Force Steering Group in preparation for when the finer details become known and when the on-line application tool becomes available. However, for now, we would ask you to work with us to identify employees who could, subject to the detail of the regulations, potentially be treated as furloughed workers so that we can put things in place efficiently and effectively once we have the confirmation and the details of the regulations.

Continuity

We would like to take this opportunity of assuring you that our primary objective is to endeavour to continue to deliver the best possible service during these unchartered times.  We are committed to supporting you and your colleagues to enable your own business continuity during circumstances which are exceptional and unprecedented for all of us.

We cannot prevent the virus to spread, but we can play an important role in trying to reduce the speed of the spread. We are working hard to ensure that our service delivery is maintained and if risks are identified these will be discussed with the stakeholders involved.

The current situation has a major impact on all of us. We require great flexibility of our colleagues across the entire business. We hope to be able to count on your cooperation to overcome this crisis jointly. Together as one we will get through this. One Team, One Industry, One Nation, Working together as One.
